This boozy “Baileys” Irish Cream recipe is a real crowd-pleaser. Make a big batch for your next gathering or separate into individual jars for a personalized gift.
I edited these labels from Etsy and these jars from Amazon.
The best thing about this recipe is that once you make it, you can modify it to your taste. Add more booze if you want, or if it is too boozy, add another splash of heavy cream. Making some for a chocolate lover? Add more cocoa powder. For an extra coffee flavor, add more instant coffee.
You can even experiment with amaretto or peppermint extract for other flavors.
Homemade Irish Cream
Makes 3, 8oz jars
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp cocoa powder (or you can use chocolate syrup!)
2 tsp instant coffee
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup Irish whiskey
Add all ingredients except the whiskey to a blender and blend until combined, about 20-30 seconds. Be careful with heavy-duty blenders because you don’t want the cream to whip. Slowly add whiskey and pulse until combined. Fills about 3, 8 oz jars. Refrigerate for up to 2 months.
I made about a dozen jars and added them to gift baskets for our friends and family. We made “PB&J” baskets with homemade bread, jam, and nut butter, and others with bath bombs and perfume rollers. Every basket got a bottle of homemade vanilla extract and, of course, Irish Cream.
